Shyam Singha Roy – “Women are not a commodity”

This is Srinivasan’s #OneManView on Netflix’s new movie Shyam Singha Roy starring Nani and directed by Rahul Sankrityan.

#OneManView Review

Does God need slaves? In the name of God, what are these people gonna do?

This is my take on “Shyam Singha Roy” by Rahul Sankrityan. I liked this movie, but it has its own letdowns. From the start of the film, we can predict the climax. The scenes involving Nani, Kriti, and Madona were quirky and good. Scenes involving “Shyam Singha Roy” and “Rosie” gave goosebumps. The fact I mentioned the character name was these two characters left a mark after the movie; the other three I forgot their character names. I felt terrible that no strong characters were there. I really liked the songs and BGM done by “Mickey J Meye.” It was such a piece of lovely music, especially the song penned for “Sai Pallavi” . Her grace was shown over such a beautiful song.

A communist person’s macho is such a goosebump; I literally felt goosebumps whenever he spoke of the ideologies. Talks about equality, slavery to god, communism, against casteism(“If you need water go and drink, else die of thirst” after throwing the person who was blocked on fetching water from the well). Lovely to watch cinemas that talk about equality. Self-respect is the most valuable thing for a person.  Minor changes would have made me love the film, but it’s a good one and neatly made.
